I want to get a good few hours where I can sit down and write a proper blog entry about it, but I have to be at work at 9 this morning when I'm used to working evening shifts, so unfortunately you will have to wait. I might start writing it after I get home from work, but no guarantees.
As you can see, I've posted just a few pictures. You got the really good ones. There are 73 pictures total in my facebook album. That's down from over 100. I weeded out the blurry ones and ones where I caught him mid word so he's got a derpy expression on his face.
I'm still a whole bunch of emotions about it. There are times when I get depressed because I'm like "Oh, I should have done this, this, or this, maybe I should have waited around in the cold longer to see if I could meet him, etc" and I get a little sad that the whole experience is over (because I spent three months anticipating it)... but there are times when I'm going through the pictures going "Eat that, bitches, I took these pictures. I was there. That was me. Something about evil twin brothers."
Which will make sense if you have heard Mr. Dolby's latest album
Anyway.
I did not buy a tee shirt at the venue, which I'm regretting just a little bit (at the time I didn't want to deal with the queue), but to make up for that, when I got home I ordered an "A Map of the floating city" poster, Thomas Dolby: A video collection (with a bunch of his music videos on it), and two cds (the 2009 remastered editions of The Golden Age of Wireless, and The Flat Earth). The Golden Age of Wireless comes with a bonus dvd I believe. One of them does. Don't remember which one.
Which sounds like a lot of stuff to spend money on when you're broke, but it was money I had fully planned on spending.
Now I'm back down to business, what with really needing to conserve my money. I'll probably only be spending it on these two bills I really need to be making payments on, and helping buy a few groceries... And of course my toiletries like shampoo and such. Although when you've got short hair you really don't go through much shampoo.
But anyway. You will all get the full story when I can find enough time and brain power to write it all down in a coherent, presentable fashion. For now I need to use what little time I have before work to zone out and finish my coffee.
